We continue to measure the successful smoker ban.
Obviously parliament did exactly the right thing. So successful is the ban, hospitality closures are only up by 156%.
Pub closures are trailing weakly at only 113%.
We continue to ask the same question:
"If this is your yardstick for success, just exactly how do you measure failure?"
We repeat, and we will keep repeating, that the Smoking Ban Experiment is a spectactular failure.
And if you don't believe us, prove us wrong. Reform the ban and allow owners to decide for themselves. If pubs/clubs/bingo halls/cafes/restaurants do not experience an immediate upswing, then I will never write another word about the smoker ban. I will walk away and agree that your childish law is good and fair.
Freedom to Choose will leave all you politicians alone, we won't need to write to newspapers, magazines, blogs and Uncle Tom Cobley.
Reform the ban.
Do it now and the economy will get a massive injection of cash.
Do it not, and we will have to keep recording the "success" of your vile legislation.
So far in excess of 90,000 people are overwhelmed with the "success". They no longer have jobs, security, and in many cases, homes.
Oh yes, this incentive has success written all over it.
The link below takes you to The Publican's report from PriceWaterhouseCooper.
We suggest you send the link to your MP. Ask him or her for the definition of "success".......
