What has come to light is incredible.

The caring Giles Thorley seems not to have cared at all !

Amassing for himself a personal fortune of an estimated 30m during his short tenure at Punch, Thorley’s success was built upon a mountain of debt

£30 million???

...he led the company down a path that seen them sink 4.5bn into the red,

£4.5 billion???

 Thorley reaped rewards – earning 11.3m for a years’ work in 2007

£11.3 million??? But pubs were already closing in 2007!

When you are reading through this report spare a thought for "The Family Tree", the pub in Bognor Regis  I highlighted some months ago.

Peter was in hospital after suffering a heart attack and Caroline went to open the pub for evening business. Punch had employed a builder to change all the locks! They were jobless, homeless & penniless-with Peter facing major heart surgery.
